Senior Cloud Data Engineering Consultant (Databricks)

We are supporting a global consultancy delivering enterprise-scale AI and data transformation programmes across automotive, industrial, and financial services environments. This position is designed for an experienced data engineering consultant who operates confidently within complex cloud ecosystems, building scalable lakehouse platforms that enable high-value analytics and strategic decision making. You will sit close to programme delivery, shaping modern data architecture, optimising large-scale pipelines, and helping organisations convert data into commercial advantage through cloud-native engineering.

Aufgaben

• Design and architect cloud-based lakehouse data platforms using Databricks
• Build and optimise scalable ETL pipelines for batch and streaming workloads
• Implement Databricks components including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, SQL, and Workflows
• Translate business requirements into production-grade data engineering solutions
• Partner with cross-functional teams spanning AI, platform, and architecture
• Contribute to best practices, service development, and internal knowledge transfer
• Mentor junior engineers and support capability growth within delivery teams

Qualifikation

• Languages: Python, Java, or Scala, strong SQL capability
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Data Engineering: Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake
• Architecture: Modern lakehouse frameworks, distributed data processing
• Infrastructure: Cloud-native tooling aligned to enterprise data platforms Several years of experience designing or engineering cloud data platforms
• Strong hands-on expertise with Databricks within production environments
• Proven capability building scalable data pipelines and architectures
• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar
• Comfortable operating in client-facing consulting environments
• Willingness to travel where programme delivery requires
• German at C1 level and strong professional English
