SCR Mining and Tunnelling L.P. is hiring for the role of Shaft Miner.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a Shaft Miner your duties include:

• Perform shaft rehabilitation and construction in accordance with engineering specifications and work plans.
• Install and maintain shaft infrastructure including dewatering system, concrete lining, timber, guides, other services, and ground support systems.
• Operate shaft-related equipment and tools safely and efficiently, hoisting, and service installation equipment.
• Install and maintain utilities such as air, water, ventilation, dewatering, and communication systems within the shaft.
• Follow all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as industry specific regulations.
• Always be physically and mentally fit for work.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report promptly.
• Comfortable and experienced with working at heights.
• Follow directives from shift supervisors.
• Loading pocket construction.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

• Minimum Education: Common core completion as well as related MTCU modules specifically U0084 – Perform Shaft Maintenance.
• Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a shaft miner. Experience in timber shafts is considered an asset.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Experience working in a camp setting (FI/FO).
• Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Compensation

The compensation range for the position is competitive and based on experience. Hourly base wages are $25.00 plus an hourly incentive bonus between $35.00 and $50.00
