Job Summary

The Associate Actuarial Analyst provides entry level support to the Actuarial Services team, focusing primarily on monthly reserving (IBNR) production, data validation, and routine actuarial reporting across multiple lines of business and states. This role supports established processes, executes recurring deliverables, and assists with basic actuarial analysis under close supervision.

Essential Job Duties

  • Execute routine monthly IBNR production tasks, including data refreshes, reconciliations, and completion of standardized templates and reports.
    • Support on time delivery by following established processes and escalating data or system issues as needed.
    • Extract, compile, and summarize data from internal systems to support reserving and financial reporting activities.
    • Perform basic analysis to identify anomalies, trends, or data inconsistencies and communicate findings to senior team members.
    • Maintain and update documentation related to recurring production processes and reporting workflows.
    • Assist with minor enhancements to existing reports, queries, and tools under supervision.
    • Collaborate with actuarial team members to meet monthly and quarterly deliverables.
    • Communicate status updates, questions, and issues clearly within the team and with partner groups as appropriate.

    Required Qualifications
  • Up to 1 year of actuarial experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
    • At least 1 passing Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam.
    • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field.
    • Advanced understanding of statistics/predictive analytics.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

  • Strong critical-thinking and attention to detail.
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong time-management skills, and ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks to meet internal deadlines.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products, including key skills in Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables), and applicable software program(s) proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Actuarial internship.
