The Role

The Regional Vice President, Operations (RVP) is a senior leadership role at Green Thumb Industries, responsible for driving the strategic direction, operational performance of a multi-site manufacturing region, and delivering production targets. As a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, the RVP sets out the vision for regional excellence—elevating safety, quality, compliance, and culture while delivering financial commitments through full regional P&L ownership. This role serves as the critical link between enterprise strategy and site-level execution. The RVP provides strategic guidance to Directors, Site Operations—ensuring alignment on priorities, connecting the dots across sites, and scaling preferred methods region-wide. They are a key driver of cross-functional alignment, partnering closely with Cultivation, Production, Quality, Compliance, People, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure GTI’s manufacturing operations are best-in-class.

  • This is a remote role that requires up to 75% travel.
  • Candidates must reside in one of our operating states or be willing to relocate to one of the following states:
    • CA, CT, FL, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic direction for regional manufacturing operations translating enterprise production goals into clear regional priorities with accountability at the site level
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to Directors, Site Operations; serve as the key resource for escalations, ensure consistent follow-through on priorities, and reinforce GTI’s preferred operational methods and standards across all sites
  • Own the regional P partner with Regional Controllers and Directors, Site Operations to analyze performance data—including efficiency metrics, labor variance, defect rates, cost drivers, and capacity planning—and drive data-based decisions on capital investments, resource allocation, and profitability improvements
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across CPG Production, Cultivation, Quality, Compliance, People, Finance, and Supply Chain facilitating collaboration, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring regional manufacturing performance supports GTI’s broader commercial and growth objectives
  • Champion a high-performance culture grounded in GTI’s values of accountability and transparency; inspire site-level leaders to build and sustain engaged, diverse teams that reflect the communities GTI serves
  • Develop and implement scalable standard operating procedures and best practices across the region; identify innovations at individual sites and systematically disseminate them to elevate performance across the entire regional portfolio
  • Prioritize talent development and succession planning across the region; provide Directors, Site Operations with transparent coaching, meaningful feedback, and growth opportunities to build a strong internal pipeline of operations leaders
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with all local, state, and federal cannabis manufacturing regulations; partner with Compliance and Legal to proactively address regulatory changes and immediately remediate any lapses in company policy or law
  • Drive continuous improvement across regional operations through LEAN manufacturing principles and structured Kaizen events; identify and eliminate waste, reduce variability, identify bottlenecks, and maximize throughput and operational efficiency across all sites

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering or Business required
  • 10+ years of management experience in manufacturing environment; multi-site leadership experience required
  • Consumer Packaged Good experience required
  • In-depth knowledge & understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, certifications a plus
  • Exposure to horticulture and/or plant science and/or lab processing, a plus
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing a P&L required
  • Can-do attitude and ability to adapt quickly; business is experiencing tremendous growth so previous operational experience in growth environment is substantially preferred
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Possesses a high level of critical thinking
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of GTI
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Medical Marijuana laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state; a pursuit to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws

  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range
$200,000—$230,000 USD
