Job Title: Unisys COBOL Application Developer.
Location: Remote.
Duration: Full-Time.
NEED IRS MBI Clearance.
The Position:
Our client is looking for a Unisys COBOL Application Developer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience modifying and maintaining a Unisys COBOL based system and experience dealing with legacy style online and batch applications, systems, and data storage. This is a full-time, salaried position.
Role Specific Duties:
Assist in interpreting software requirements and design specifications to code and integrate and test software components.
Perform maintenance and testing activities for newly implemented and existing applications
Analyze user requirements, document, and revise systems functionalities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve application problems
Provide production support and maintain existing systems by researching and troubleshooting any problems
Identify form and coded changes that may affect other systems up and down work stream.
Use established tools and procedures for software source control
Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and help resolve limitations
Analyze computer source code and live performance indicators to locate code problems and correct errors
Experience working effectively in a highly collaborative Agile team
Analyze new tools and technologies and assist with implementation inside existing architectures.
Experience working in a water fall development environment.
Provide technical leadership and guidance as required
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10 years’ experience developing software and/or web applications
5+ years of experience with Unisys COBOL
5+ years of experience with Executive Control Language.
5+ years doing development in a Unisys mainframe environment.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills while functioning effectively under time constraints in a dynamic environment where quality results are imperative
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
Ability to handle multiple projects, multiple systems, respond well to shifting priorities, work well under pressure
Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
